There are 24 pairs of peregrine falcons nesting around London according to the RSPB. They like to use tall buildings because they are like cliffs. A number have been named and a pair called Misty and Houdini regularly spend their days on the chimney of the Tate, where they have a birds eye view of the capital. Peregrines can reach the breathtaking speed of 200 mph while hunting for food.

The RSPB has telescopes by the Millennium Bridge in the summer months for people to watch the peregrines close up.
